Tools to Shift Grumpy Energy
Has this ever happened to you... It's almost like your kids have been bit by a grumpy bug and then once they start on that path no matter you it feels like you can't get them out of that grumpy negative loop. It feels like once the first grumpy domino falls there is a whole bunch lined up behind it ready to fall. This is something I have experienced with my own kids. I am glad to report I have found some exercises that have really helped shift that energy so the whole day isn't ruined! I have even used them for myself when I have been bit by the grumpy bugs!
Breathwork for Kids
Have you ever noticed that when you watch a baby breathe you can see their little tummy rise and fall from across the room? Then if you watch adults breathe nothing really moves. As adults we tend to not want to feel things while babies are excited to feel anything and everything! Our diaphragm is a huge place where we process emotions. If our diaphragm does move we don’t have to feel or process it. This is something our bodies innately know because it is our birth right to feel! Breath work encompasses a range of breathing exercises designed to enhance physical, spiritual, and mental health. At its core it is the foundation for stress management. Many recent studies have found that breath work:
-
reduces anxiety
-
sharpens memory
-
treats symptoms of depression
-
promotes more restful sleep
-
improves heart health
It has also been shown that deep breathing may act as a manual switch to move your system from the SNS into the PNS. In other words, from a state of stress to a state of calm. Join us for our breath work class for kids to keep them in tune and give them another tool to process life through the vital skill of breathing!
Interactive Kid's Sound Bath
In general kids are more sensitive to energy and often times more responsive to sound frequencies. Have you ever noticed your kids behavior change with big storms or on the full moon? This is a perfect example of their sensitivity. Join us for a fun inner active sound bath where we even let the kids play some of the instruments like the drum and rain stick! We also love to see their responses and what instruments they are drawn to.
